WWF – “Earth’s Last Battery”
Lucas Chu: Copywriter, Art Director
Challenge: How do you make people realize how close we are to irreversible environmental damage?
Insight: People panic when their phone battery runs low—but ignore when nature is running out.
Solution: Make climate collapse feel as urgent as personal inconvenience by framing environmental destruction in the same way we treat our devices’ battery life.

Print/Display Ad – “Nature is Running Low”
Visual:
A melting iceberg, but instead of natural cracks, a giant digital “Low Battery: 3%” icon hovers above it—mirroring the familiar phone warning.
Headline:
"If this were your phone, you'd be scrambling for a charger."
Body Copy:
When your battery drains, you act fast. But when nature’s energy depletes, we ignore the warning signs.
CTA:
"Recharge the planet. Join WWF’s fight against climate collapse."
OOH Ad – “Critical: Earth Needs Charging”
Visual:
A burning forest, with a giant power meter dropping to red. Next to it, a desperate “Recharge Earth—Only 2% Power Left” alert flashes ominously.
Headline:
"Critical: Earth Needs Charging."
Body Copy:
At 2% battery, panic sets in. When Earth hits 2%? Delayed action, empty promises, too little, too late. If we wait, there won’t be a charger big enough to fix this.
CTA:
"Power up change. Support WWF today."
Video Ad – “When Nature Runs Out, There’s No Charger”
Concept:
A time-lapse of natural disasters escalating, structured exactly like a phone battery draining—each stage showing more environmental collapse.
Scene One: Battery at 75% – Subtle Signs of Decline
Visual: Gentle environmental shifts—a lake drying slightly, a glacier with small cracks forming.
Voiceover: "It starts slow. A few percentage points lost. Nothing noticeable."
Scene Two: Battery at 50% – Alarming Changes
Visual: Hurricanes intensifying, wildfires spreading, sea levels visibly rising.
Voiceover: "Then you notice it. The warning signs appear. But you don’t act fast enough."
Scene Three: Battery at 10% – Catastrophic Events Unfold
Visual: Flooding, deserts expanding, animals disappearing, extreme heat waves.
Voiceover: "At 10%, panic sets in. You rush to find a charger. But what if there is none?"
Final Scene: Battery at 1% – The Last Warning
Visual: The screen flickers, fading fast—Earth barely holding on.
Voiceover: "When nature is drained, there is no restart button. Act now before it’s too late."
CTA on Screen:
"Recharge Earth with WWF. Every second counts."
Experiential Activation – “Earth’s Last Charge”
Concept:
A giant digital battery display in major cities, tracking real-time environmental damage, forcing passersby to confront depletion levels.
Execution:
1. The "Live Battery Meter for Earth" Installation
A massive screen showing Earth’s battery life based on real climate data.
As pollution increases, the battery visibly drops, creating a countdown effect that reinforces urgency.
Final message: "You wouldn't ignore this warning on your phone. Don’t ignore it now."
2. Social Activation – “Plug In to Climate Action”
Users post their daily eco-friendly actions to "recharge" Earth’s battery.
A live tracker restores energy levels as people take action, reinforcing real-time impact.
